WHO WE ARE
First and foremost, Cartridge Cave is a video game store with a mission to sell classic, retro, and some current generation games and consoles at the best prices. Reliving nostalgic moments can be tough in this era, so we have created a platform that transports you back to the golden age of video games. We procure the coolest and most unique games and hardware with the goal of sharing them with local communities at great prices. NES, SNES, Sega, N64, GameCube, Atari, PlayStation, Xbox, kiosks and more; we aim to carry it all!
Our mission goes beyond selling merchandise. In the spirit of the video game community’s love for collecting and exchanging gaming treasures, we buy from and trade with our customers with the goal of maximizing the cash and trade-in values of your items. You will always get more value when you trade-in for store credit instead of cash!
A corner of our store is dedicated to coin-op arcade machines. We currently have Mario Bros., Buck Hunt, and Mortal Kombat machines. In addition we have several retro consoles hooked up to coin-op machines so you can play original Super Mario, Diddy Kong & Mario Kart DD.
We are located within The Hive Public Market in Downtown Lowell since Nov 1st 2025. We are thrilled to be apart of such a vibrant small business focused space.

MEET THE FOUNDER/OWNER
My name is Nick (AKA "Nostalgic Nick") and I have been a gamer since I can remember. As a child, I grew up playing the Super Nintendo with some of the best games of all time, such as Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World. Some of my favorite memories as a kid were playing video games, and as an adult, this still holds true. I am an engineer by trade, but in my free time I love to repair, modify, and tinker with old game consoles. A collector at heart, I have a personal collection of games and consoles from every generation. I try to play a new game every week, whether old or new, to recreate precious gaming memories and to learn more about games from different eras and genres.
MEET THE GM/PARTNER
Hi, my name is Ash Desrosiers. I like many of you have fond memories as a child playing video games with family and friends. I grew up playing N64, GC, GBC, and PS2. Video games and 90s/00's cartoons are what inspired my passion for art which lead me to study graphic design in college. Since then I have discovered my other passion is in creating community. I have years of experience in hospitality management and decided to bring it all together. Nick and I strive to bring a friendly and welcoming gaming community that feels accessible to all, no matter your age, skill, or experience.
COMMUNITY DRIVEN
In addition to being a video game store with a small coin-operated arcade section, we also want to give back to the community and offer stations within our store for customers to stop-in and play. These stations includes CRT televisions with many classic game console hookups.
